David Weidner is a DFB (German Football Association) "B" licensed coach, and former DFB professional soccer player. His "B" license allows him to coach at the professional level in Europe. A few notable accomplishments include:


  • trained Miroslav Klose as a youth coach at FC Homburg
  • played in a German Cup round of 16 game, with Borussia Neunkirchen
    (see video below)
  • was selected to the Oberliga team of the year in 1996
  • seven years as a professional soccer player in Germany
    • 2.Bundesliga: FC Homburg
    • Oberliga: Borussia Neunkirchen
    • Regionalliga: SV Elversberg
  • was selected to the Mountain Pacific (NCAA Division I) All-Conference team in 1992
    (alongside eventual USMNT players, including Coby Jones, Brad Friedel, and Joe-Max Moore)
  • was Director of Coaching for OC Kings Soccer Academy 2006-2008 (club formed by former USMNT captain Thomas Dooley)
  • coached the OC Kings Boys U-16 to the California State Open Cup Title (2007) in its first year of existence.

David has a degree in Film from the University of California, Irvine, and has written, directed, edited and produced feature films with his production company, Shannon River Productions. His most recent film, "The Spirit Hunter", won multiple awards at film festivals, has been released on DVD, and is available on Netflix.
